About Stuart McDowell - Graphic Artist, Illustrator and Photographer.

Stuart graduated from Northampton University in 1998 and started his Graphic Design business Creative Beast in 2005.  Recently he decided to bring together his main passions in life - motorcycles, photography and illustration and ‘Widow Makers’ was born. Stuart takes commissions for his artwork from motorcycle owners and works from photographs to produce illustrations of the bikes, either in ballpoint pen, black ink and bleach, watercolour or mixed media digital art.

So why ‘Widow Makers’?

“I believe motorcycle owners risk their lives every day that they ride their motorcycles. The Name ‘Widow Maker’ originally came from the famous Kawasaki H2 Motorcycle and whilst this may be true, I believe all types of motorcycles can be dangerous and a potential ‘Widow Maker’. That’s the risk owners face for the passion and excitement of riding a motorbike. This I know because I ride myself, and to be honest in this day and age, the rider has more to worry about with the increasing amount of traffic on roads throughout the world.”

Stuart will talk with you, the motorcycle owner to understand what drives your enthusiasm and passion for your bike and arrange to meet with you at the location of your choice to photograph your motorcycle, he then works from his studio in Northamptonshire to produce your unique original artwork.  No prints are made commissioned artwork so every piece is a one-off. Should you wish to provide your own photographs for Stuart to work from this can be discussed at the point of commission.

Widow Makers also produces digital prints of motorcycle event posters for fictional or live events. Please take the time to explore the website and check back often to see the latest creations and any recent news together with details of events attend by Stuart and Widow Makers.
