Welcome

Welcome to Widow Makers, Motorcycle Art by Stuart McDowell.

Stuart decided recently to bring together his main passions in life - motorcycles, photography and illustration and ‘Widow Makers’ was born.

Stuart takes commissions for his artwork from motorcycle owners and works from his photographs to produce illustrations of the bikes, either in ballpoint pen, black ink and bleach, watercolour or mixed media and digital art.

He has a huge passion for all motorcycles and cultures, from British classic bikes, 60’s Rockers, New wave customs, Brat styles, Bobbers and 70’s Cafe Racers through to Harley Davidson custom bikes, Sport bikes, Japanese Classics, and his favourite, Vintage motorcycles. He attends many motorcycle events throughout the year and takes many photographs to create fictional or real motorcycle event posters and hand drawn motorcycles.

This website is new, it has been launched early due to the release of a video featuring a recent presentation by Stuart at the famous British motorcycle event ’Ton Up Day’ held at Jacks Hill Cafe in Towcester, Northamptonshire. Make sure to watch this awesome video created by Tom White at Black Rock Creative and planned by Stuart himself at Creative Beast.

This website will eventually feature original artworks, photography and digital posters for purchase, but most importantly it is to allow motorcycle owners to view Stuarts artwork and contact him to discuss commissions. Stuart will talk with you, the motorcycle owner to understand what drives your enthusiasm and passion for your bike and arrange to meet with you at the location of your choice to photograph your motorcycle, he then works from his studio in Northamptonshire to produce unique original artwork. No prints are made of the commissioned artwork so every piece is a one-off. Should you wish to provide your own photographs for Stuart to work from this can be discussed at the point of commission.

Please take the time to explore the website and check back often to see the latest creations and any recent news. You can also follow Widow Makers on Twitter and Facebook.

Artworks are also available to view at the Creative Beast Studio, 67 Brook Street Raunds, Northampton. Please call to arrange an appointment. 01933 626198

Should you want Stuart to illustrate your Motorcycle, please contact stuart using the contact form (click here) to arrange a meeting to discuss your commission.
